Kansas Security Cameras Capture Escaped Kangaroo Hopping Down Road

Employees at Blue Valley Tractor & Supply in Bucyrus, Kansas, recently noticed an animal racing along the road beside the business. At first, they suspected it might be an injured deer. After reviewing the company’s security-camera footage, however, they identified the animal as a kangaroo. The video showed the Australian marsupial moving quickly past the facility, according to UPI Odd News. The company described the footage on social media as less than professional wildlife documentary material, while confirming that the small blur moving down the road was indeed a kangaroo. The animal was later found to have temporarily escaped from a nearby property. The source material does not provide details about how it got loose, how long it remained away, or how it was returned. Kangaroos can legally be kept as pets in Kansas, but owners must obtain a Class C license from the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks.
